Frequently asked questions.
How will Heliotropia Coaching improve my life?
All of us have personal and workplace challenges that require a measured and thoughtful plan of action. As hard as we may try, we simply cannot coach ourselves. Being truly honest with ourselves on where we may need to improve is very difficult. As a professional coach who is accredited with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), I use a highly ethical and evidence based framework that truly works. The Coaching Core Competency Model (CCCM) supports clients through a confidential process upheld by core values, the ICF Code of Ethics and clear agreements for the overall coaching engagement. A highly trained, ethical coach always creates a safe, supportive environment for clients, maintaining a relationship of mutual respect and trust.
Why choose Heliotropia as opposed to another ‘life’ coach?
At Heliotropia, we believe that our first and most important job is to add tangible value and do no harm. This is only possible when the coach has done the necessary work in terms of qualifications, training, ongoing reflective practice and lived experience. Sadly, so many coaches simply have not done the necessary work. Without foundational coaching training nor academic credentials, a coach can inadvertently cause harm. At Heliotropia, clients are in safe hands due to our training and our membership with a regulatory body for coaching excellence, The International Coaching Federation.
Do I need to sign a contract and commit to a number of sessions?
Our coaching partnership begins with a free 30 minute conversation about what you are hoping to gain from the coaching experience. Once we decide to work together, a formal coaching agreement is created that benefits us both. Whilst we may agree to work together for six sessions, for example, this can be cancelled at any time with no obligation. The client’s autonomy is fully supported throughout the process and the coach is there to enhance the client’s growth and transform learning and insight into actions.
